On the average age of a Headshot, how old would you think people’s Headshots on LinkedIn and other profiles are?

I’ve had people that had 10 years since they updated their Headshot / Professional Profile Pictures, but also 5 years, 2 years, everything in between. The question is always, “Well how often should I?” My professional recommendation is every 2 years at a minimum. I’d venture to even say yearly, but let’s be real here….getting some people in every two years is like wrangling kittens.

You would be shocked to see how much we as people change in a year, and this is also one of the contributing factors to why some people hang onto a Headshot for well over a decade. We age, lose weight, gain weight, snip off mystery spots our dermatologist didn’t like, and sometimes are afraid to let go of a person who exists only in the past.
